| Food Value | Excellent--the best tasting fish I've every had! |
| Suggested Tackle & Bait | The Amberjack is a strong fighter. You may fight an Amberjack of average size for an hour or longer. |
| Suggested Fishing Techniques | Use heavy rods and reels with lines testing 50 pounds
or more. They can be cast to with surface plugs, spoons, jigs, or
big fly rod streamers and poppers. Live chum will also draw
Amberjack to the surface. The best bait with heavy tackle is any
sort of live fish; they will also take whole dead baits, trolling lures,
and even cutbaits. Fishing systems are drifting, trolling and casting. |
